Long-lead deposits
Last updated: August 2026
Long-lead deposits are payments made to reserve manufacturing slots for equipment with long lead times — transformers, switchgear, generators — often quarters before delivery. Data center schedules are built around them.
Why they strain the supply chain
The dealer wires the factory a deposit today and delivers the gear next year; the buyer pays on their own project schedule after that. The dealer's cash is committed at both ends of a very long middle. Guide: financing the wait →
Financing the wait
Yellowpay underwrites deposit-heavy, long-lead supply rather than treating it as an exception — invoices paid within 2 business days, buyers on terms up to NET-120.
